Flaviar bottle 04/2022. Color is a lighter yellow amber, but the nose is surprisingly complex and caramel-oak. Wow! As someone who loves bourbon and normally hates Irish whisky this one is as advertised- a nice cross-over/gateway! The barley makes it quite smooth, and there is plenty of caramel and vanilla to cover up the taste I normally don’t like. The flavor is simple, though, and doesn’t really develop. Perhaps some butterscotch, but a lot of roasted nuts.

I’m looking at this for my quarterly pick v smooth ambler contradiction bourbon, sagamore rye, and wild Turkey 101 1L. Would you go with it over those? (I’ve never owned WT directly and I’ve only had sagamore rye double oaked)
