Not a huge fan of Basil Hayden after reluctantly going through a bottle. I bought it because the price was right and my shelf was looking a little thin, but wound up being less than thrilled. If you're new to whiskey, or bourbon in particular, Mr. Hayden might suit you just fine. He's not overly complex or overwhelming on the palate, and he's pretty sweet and easy going down. I also hear he shines best in cocktails. But, if you're like me and prefer your bourbon neat, I'd go with something different. Baker's and Booker's are both on the same Beam family tree as Basil Hayden, and much more enjoyable.
