(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Whisky Tasting, 23 April 2022).
Nose: Lemon, vanilla, stone fruit, hay, green/grass, aniseed
Palate: Sweet, fruity, quite hot, zesty lemon/citrus, green apples, nutty, gristy
Finish: Medium finish. Spicy and sweet, black pepper, ginger, lemon, lightly toasted nuts. Sours on the aftertaste. Slightly numbing.
Fruity, zingy and nutty. The overall impression is young and hot, with lots of citrus and spice. It's OK, not a bad dram, but a little fresh and youthful for my palate.
This whisky has been designed to drink as a youthful dram, with a different profile being used for their whisky currently aging.
Came joint second out of the six drams, with 14% of the final vote for favourite of the night. 64% of those present said they enjoyed the whisky.

@icsteel154 Investors 😡. The initial batches from these new distilleries are necessarily limited so it’s worth the gamble for investment hoarders to buy a case and sell it for enormous profit after a decade. Even if it’s crud it will still be rare crud.
@Richard-ModernDrinking and even if he did move earlier, he still can’t work magic to make a 3 yr old any more mature
@PBMichiganWolverine It’s because John Campbell moved there from Laphroaig, though he hasn’t been there long enough to make much of an impact
@PBMichiganWolverine I agree. There are a handful I have enjoyed enough to buy, but only ever at retail prices.
@icsteel154 I think so…if which none seem to be worth it. A 3 yr old simply can’t be worth it at those prices
@PBMichiganWolverine At the moment there seems to be a constant run on any of the new distillery releases. I strongly suspect most of it goes straight onto the secondary market by way of the flippers.
@icsteel154 this really flew off the shelves…and not sure why…it’s just another 3 yr old, isn’t it?
