Initial smell is rich, strong ethanol. Hits your nose hard. Has a warm oak smell. First take has a definite spice to it but also mellow aftertaste. Goes down smooth. The spice hits you harder than the taste. I would describe it as inoffensive and good. Feels like it would be a good cold weather drink. After a few sips, the splice goes away, mostly hints of vanilla and oak but doesn't last long.
