Arran Sauternes Cask Finish Single Malt
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland

Old style bottle. 63 bucks.
In a word, this is delightful. A fruit bomb of a whisky. Pear, citrus fruit, mango, pineapple, coconut honey (is that a thing? It should be a thing), sweet white wine on the nose. The fruit carries over beautifully to the palate. A little bit of malt and honey, a smidge of salt with a dash of wood and barrel spice to round out the finish. It's what Glenmo Nectar d'Or wishes it could be. So far I've only tried the 10 year and this one from Arran, but they're batting 1.000 so far.

@angstrom7 Arrans on my shelf. Disposal should occur with me, it’s very irresponsible to seperate Arran bottles.
From now on, all full bottles of Arran will be sent to @Ctrexman for environmentally safe disposal.
Agreed Sooner Ive tried 4 offerings and liked em all. Pretty much will buy anything I see from Arran.....wait no actually its all garbage as previously stated
@soonershrink No, the next Springbank is B .... oops, nearly gave it away.
@LouisianaLonghorn Indeed. These are not the malts you are looking for ... move along, move along.
@soonershrink Might have a lot to do with the batch. My Arran was very musty, like moldy grapes. I as a bit startled when I opened. Settled down significantly with some time.
@angstrom it's actually been a minute since I've had the Nectar, so that comment was based more on memory. Was thinking about picking up a new bottle, which would make for a good side-by-side. Will let you know if I do.
This sounds better than my bottle (new branding). Couple drams in, but GM Nector D’Or is winning…
@LouisianaLonghorn Haha, that was me too! Two long years before I saw Springbank in the wild again. Actually, just showed up two weeks ago. There is hope for you yet!
@soonershrink god I hope not. Two years ago I could find springbank reliably at the store and I told myself, “Good. It’ll be there for when I’m ready on the whisky journey…” Fast forward to now…
@LouisianaLonghorn ha! Is Arran the next Springbank?
I think we’re suppose to say, “Oh, Arran, those guys suck. Don’t buy their crap whisky. What you really want to buy is Jura. That’s where it’s at!”
