Corn — Mexico, Mexico

Not at all what I expected from a corn whiskey. The nose is buttery, caramel, sweet biscuit, and toasted oak. The palate is straw, ash, grassy vegetal, licorice, black pepper, and a silky oily mouth feel. I don't find it at all sweet. This reminds me more of Scotch and aged tequila than of any other corn whiskey I have ever tried. I did like it and I look forward to trying a more mellow, matured expression in a few years. Like maybe an 8 yr old?
