Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland

Blind whiskey night tasting. Honey, apple, malty, more caramel than I usually pick up in scotch, which made me think it was a blend. Good flavor, but it isn’t helped by the low proof.

@DrRHCMadden it’s actually one I’ve had before, just realized I hadn’t written a review. It’s one I’d be glad to sip. I’ve also had the Caribbean cask, which didn’t stand out to me as appreciably better than the DW.
Actually, look at the balvenie website, staggering range of offerings…
This is an absolute classic. Consistent and well made. Always delivers. I haven’t had any others but their 17 double wood (which is lovely), but they have lots of really interesting looking variants, a rum cask, peated, 16 French oak, and 21 port wood. I’d be happy to get in on any of those!
