Okay I was underwhelmed by this initially, but I just absent-mindedly poured a glass over a large cube of ice and I can see where all the praise comes from. It's tightly-packed with a lot of rich toffee and sticky heather, wonderful cereal grain character and a little tiny bit of maritime edge - just enough to dry it out a little. As the ice melts it unfurls and there's a lot more to experience. I get a little more heat, but mostly the flavors are just lengthened. Before the ice melts it's like a port but as it dilutes it becomes more like a red wine.
