This is a rather tame Islay Scotch. There’s plenty of smoke and peat so you know where it comes from but it’s not over powering. I also find herbal and floral notes with a bit of a sweet brine finish. It smells of leather and oak.
I’m quite enjoying this pour. Most other Islay Scotch I have had to power my way through and didn’t really enjoy but this one is pleasant and enjoyable.
