Voyage 13. Nice stuff combining caramel and corn bourbon flavors with saltwater at the beach

@LeeEvolved. Oh that’s right! I liked it...depending on the price, it’s worth to get it ( I’d not pay over $60-70 though)
@PBMichiganWolverine - and yes, you have tried it. Voyage 4 was Ryan’s first extra pour on the SDT. You gave it 4 stars, I believe.
I think it’s not the romantic scenario that everyone envisions: large, wooden casks sitting above deck on an old, old wooden ship (named Diversity, lol) getting sea water splashed across them from squalls and storms constantly as the ship sails from one exotic port to another for months at a time. The reality is that the casks are stacked in a large, metal shipping container and surrounded by other containers full of plastic, mass produced crap from around the world. They don’t get exposed to any sunlight or ocean spray- they just gently rock back and forth while traveling at 30knots. Jefferson’s hopes you think it’s the first example, rather than the reality. Hence, it’s a gimmick.
The barrels are put on a ship for the last 6-8 months of aging after 6-8 years of aging in barrels, traveling through 30 ports crossing the equator 4 times.
No—-haven’t tried it. Thought it might be gimmicky...thought to myself that they might as well have left barrels on the GW bridge for similar effects
Did u try it yet or before now u haven’t wanted to take the risk
@worldwhiskies95. I always thought this was a gimmick with the “aged at sea” bit. But from your review, makes me want to give it a try. Nice review
