Revisiting a common scotch. One of the first drams that started me on my whisky journey.
Nose: Fairly subdued. White grapes, nuts, honey - but all quiet and in the background.
Palate: A piece of bread dipped in honey and olive oil. Rich and mouth filling.
Finish: Casks. Both the bourbon and the sherry casks shine through. Vanilla, oak, and sweet wine apricot lingers. If you’re going to market and name your whisky after the casks, you’d expect to feel the influence of the casks - and they certainly provide that.
