In the world of amaro, I dont often think of CioCiaro, but it's very well made and reasonably priced.
On the nose I get orange peel and tobacco. The palate is actually quite herbal and pretty sweet. The bitter component is lower than most amaro, with some nice cola notes. The finish has no burn and some liquorice.
For the cost I think this is a solid value amaro. It's not incredibly complex, but it's well made and easy to drink. I'm surprised it's not called for more often in cocktails. I would probably go with a 3.25 neat, but for the value I will bump it up to a 3.5.
