Glenmorangie expressions can be very hit or miss for me, so I was pleasantly surprised with the high batting average at a mega-tasting last night of something like 16 different bottles. This one was very easy to like, brimming with the distillery’s characteristic orange notes. The nose yields butterscotch and orange from the interplay of the bourbon and sherry casks. The palate is orange water, a delicate honey and a light pecan nuttiness. The finish is surprisingly long, with flavors of crisp toast and Jaffa cake topping. This is one Lighthouse that you do want to steer towards.

@Richard-ModernDrinking yeah that totally seems fair. I think wine-searcher showed retailers that marked up the price 2x
@PBMichiganWolverine It was a distillery-only release for 85 pounds, which seems fair.
@Richard-ModernDrinking wow…$200 for the 12 yr old. Still sticking to scammy. Seems like a collectors item if you’re a huge Glenmo fan, I guess?
The Lighthouse is the name of the new experimental still at the distillery. This is a special edition to mark its opening.
@Richard-ModernDrinking wait, so this is just a 12 yr old matured in a light house!?!!! Sounds scammy.
