Usually my go-to for mixers, but I decided to try some on its own for fun.
On the nose: woody aromas with faint, FAINT hints honey, vanilla, pecan, and possibly banana?
On the palate: Black pepper was very front-heavy, with honey and caramel occupying the back-end, though it’s a bit too faint for my fancy.
Finish: I got hints of salt. Not bad, but not distinct or profound enough for me.
Overall: a fairly smooth bourbon that I’d stick with mostly as a cocktail bourbon. I bet this is pretty good in a casual Old Fashioned, but if you’re looking for options to sip on, you’re probably better off looking elsewhere.
