Gifted to me by a dear friend after my bourbon hunt came up short. This is my third time since early 2022 having a pour, all neat. For this pour, I'm having it in a rocks glass. The nose is warm and inviting, and smells faintly sweet.... Almost to the liking of coca-cola. After allowing it to rest, then lightly swirling in the glass brings about notes a vanilla, and light pie spice(s).... Overall, this bourbon smells amazingly good. My palate enjoyed this too!!... From the first sip there is a fullness, and richness that engulfed my mouth, craving me to want more. There is some spiciness, however it is not overbearing.... Also I can taste a hint of smoke, not charred, more like a light haze. Within the richness and fullness, as I let the sip sit on my palate, surprisingly it is not heavy.... But light and buttery. As for the finish.... Well let's just say you'll enjoy the last drop. This is really good, Buffalo Trace Distillery has not let me down yet (not that I would ever expect them to), if you like Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and Blanton's, then you will find this enjoyable as well.... It's like each expression gets better and better!
