First foray into clairin a few years ago. When I first cracked the bottle, I thought it was quite grassy, but either some oxidation or a palate that is now more experienced with cane rum has changed that. I do get some herbal flavors, mint, some grass, and esters that are more reminiscent of mango or papaya than the overripe banana more typical to Jamican funk. The aroma is pervasive and hits as soon as the bottle is open.
