Nose- brown sugar, maple syrup, caramel corn. The nose is 5/5.
Palate: follows through to the nose and adds more caramel. I am also catching a wonderful french toast with maple syrup note, along with a burn that reveals its proof. This is great whiskey
Finish- Some smoke, maple syrup and a bit of heat. It is long and comforting. The only fla
w is a bit of dryness from the oak.....but if you savor wood this is no flaw at all!
Overall- This is GREAT whiskey! Not just good but GREAT whiskey! I troed side by side with the 10 yr, and I give the slightest edge to the 10yr.

I think I liked the drinkability on the 10 yr just a tad more. It lost nothing with the lower proof accept for a bit of drying on the finish. I wouldnt call the 12 yr overoaked, but as oak goes 10yr just hit the sweet spot for me. My son had it differently when we sampled it out. He loved the extra 2 years in the wood
Great review. Jack has shown they know how to make great when they want with the 10, 12, Bonded, Single Barrels, Barrel Proofs, etc. It’s a shame their flagship is so mediocre.
@Swahili1 what made rhe 10 better? Just wondering if the extra 2 yr in barrel took something away from the 10?
