Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

Unlike a lot of reviewers, I didn't find the original 16 year old Lagavulin to be as peaty as I expected. The 43% abv seemed to my taste buds to be a little thin for my taste.
Upon opening my first bottle of Lagavulin Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask 11 year old, I felt that my search had ended. I immediately ordered 6 more bottles. This is the most satisfying single malt scotch I have ever enjoyed. A one ounce snifter of this fabulous elixer is very calming and delicious. The peat, mingled with the sweetness of the european wine cask and the american bourbon cask are a perfect combination that I find very satisfying. Too bad this is a limited edition bottling.
