This is quite the blend; 35% from 5 year old Barbados pot still and column still rums, 40% from Guyanese Demerara rum aged between 3-5 years, 20% from Guyanese unaged rum (both Guyanese rums are from a combo of pot and column stills) and 5% from a funky pot still Jamaican rum. No additional aging…
It’s copper colored and after a swirl, it leaves a nice ring around my glass with legs slowly dropping back to the bottom of my glass. Mmmm the smell… molasses, tropical fruits, bananas, spices. There’s nothing overwhelming and there’s no astringency. It is a bit musty, maybe from the Jamaican rum. It tastes amazing and very creamy and warm. That’s the first thing I notice. Then the flavors kick in; chocolate, banana, all spice, coffee. There’s a lot going on here. It’s flavorful, but not too complex. It’s smooth! The mouthfeel is rich, creamy and warm. The finish is kind of dry and bananas sit in the back of your throat at the end. Overall, this is fantastic. If you see it on the shelf, grab it
