Tasted at Hunger n' Thirst, Lancaster, PA. A little hot at first. Earthy sweet peat smoke. Rich raisin-heavy sherry and sea salt, all combining to create a smoky salted-caramel flavor. (Gives the impression of a vegetarian Lagavulin, if that can't be taken as a slight...) Added water increases the sweetness and forms an estimable scotch mist! Risky on the palate; Hot oak, mild pear and nutty. Quick finish, Sweet smoke returns. It's definitely enjoyable, but not exceptional, and woefully overpriced for a NAS.

Just had it this evening at Hunger n' Thirst; paired well the pineapple upside down dessert
Totally agree----I think the price is more to pay for the marketing hype and backstory, along with the fancier black bottle. For a bit more, you can get the 18, or the 15 for about the same price
That's what I was thinking too: the price per quality does not warrant a purchase.
(After confirming the price locally, I've adjusted my rating... Ouch)
I have no plans to ever buy a bottle, and it was never on my wishlist, but decided to just try it when I saw it on the bar's shelf (it was the only bottle missing from their Scotch list). Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, it just isn't anything I feel warm and fuzzy about, or feel the need to run out and buy. And despite the hype, it WAS silly hot and a bit rough, I'll save my dead prezzies, thanks.
I am curious about this but am skeptical of the price/NAS, considering for not too much (relatively) more you can get their 18. Is this worthy for a collection?
