Middle West Spirits Bourbon Cream

Dairy/Egg Liqueurs — Ohio, USA

Reviewed November 4, 2023
2.5
2.5 out of 5 stars
I've had a lot of Middle West products and I like most of them; I've also had a lot of bourbon creams and like most of them too, but the flavor profile of this one is just weird. It has rum added to it (???) which completely changes and overpowers the subtle flavor of what a bourbon cream tastes like, and not for the better. It's really hard to see what they were going for with that... I'll give this another shot... maybe it's just the neck pour that's so weird, but so far, I'd recommend going with other high quality bourbon creams [^1][^2] over this one. One caveat, I have experienced very weird neck pours with other Middle West products, such as the wheat whiskey, so I'll update this review next time I try it. The price point of the Middle West product is also higher than almost everything else as well... it feels really unjustified for what you get here IMO. [^1]: Buffalo Trace, Boone County, Hard Truth Maple, and Hard Truth Peanut Brittle bourbon creams are really good to excellent. [^2]: Jim Beam and Ezra Brooks bourbon creams are just okay.
