On the nose: Rum notes are on the light side. This one provides the typical aromas that belong to sherry/port finished spirits: Fruits galore, dryed fruits, fresh fruits, mixed with molasses and a little bit of clove.
On the palate: Easy sipper, has a little bite, but again, the rum molasses and burnt sugar notes are a little bit overshadowed by the sherry and port flavors. Some caramel is present, but not too sweet. This is an interesting one, different from other rums I’ve tried before. Drinks more like a whisky. This would be a perfect choice to bring whisky drinkers into the rum world.
