Have y'all heard of this? Sits on the shelf always around $50. Everyone walks by it looking for Blanton's. It's like that cheap bottle Wild Turkey 101 but with a different name, way higher alcohol, will get you fucked up, but classy on its own. It's always there when you need it in case you've had a string of disappointments buying bourbon almost double the price. Highly recommend!

@BDanner Ohio ABC is shockingly bad compared to NC. In Kentucky, it's hard to get a handle on the sheer amount of NDP whiskey available. Single barrels from distilleries I've never heard of seem to pop up every week. Luckily, a couple of the stores near me have free samples weekly of lesser known bottles.
@Zachary-Robbins I’ll second you on NC ABC’s. As much complaining that goes on, I’ve gotten plenty of bottles at MSRP that most of the country is paying ridiculous secondary for. I’ll also agree that $50 Wild Turkey is better than 90% of the younger MGP store picks from (insert quirky name here) Distillery. Mist are sitting here in NC on top of a used barrel surrounded by cases collecting dust.
@BDanner Honestly I miss NC ABC, they reliably carry some stuff at MSRP that you cannot find up here. Rare Breed isn't perfect, but it is almost always better than these 5-6 year old single barrel picks that litter the shelves in NKY.
You must've been sending me telepathic signals. Disappointed that I missed some limited stuff at the local ABC (you remember those,, right?) I grabbed Old Reliable Rare Breed. I must say however that this bottling is a little different profile than I remember past releases. It was so clove heavy that I wasn't enjoying it as much as usual until I gave it some water. After that? Pretty close to perfect.
