There’s nothing refined or subtle about this bold rye, which may or may not be a good thing. Black cherry and dark honey appear in the nose. On the palette, it’s sweet, with hints of the aforementioned cherries and honey, plus lots of strong rye spice. Hints of honey pop up in the finish, plus something floral, and a bit of numbing menthol. This bottle was a gift. The taste is unusual, and although interesting, I wouldn’t seek out another bottle.
