A gentle giant and my personal reference point for all other whiskeys. Perfectly balanced mix of peat and dark fruit, like a baroque painting of a majestic horse in the throws of war. Or the depraven crew of a wooden Man-of-War rejoicing at the sight of dry land. I feel at home each time I revisit this whiskey, as if I’m being connected to the spirits of my ancestors. Nothing else has come close, it is perfection.
