One of the talking points for this distillery is that all ingredients are sourced within 10 miles of the distillery, which I’ve always felt is both a gimmick and kind of cool. This is truly a local product, and thats a source if pride here. The mistake people often make is that this makes this better by default, or that it should be graded on a curve. Nope.
Nose is bready and grainy. Its raw. Its young.
Body is low heat, but also low notes. Its bread. Yeast. Wood. Bit of caramel.
Finish is cinnamon and more grain.
This is a clean, inoffensive product. Nothing special, but they haven’t made any major errors either. I think it needs some time in the barrel. $50 for a bottle is absurd, but maybe if you’re a local you shell out for that pride. Likely the last time I ever drink this, and I’m not sad about it.
