Heaven Hill Bottled In Bond 7 Year

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Reviewed July 3, 2024 (edited July 10, 2024)
2.5
2.5 out of 5 stars
On vacation right now, and bought a few samples woth me. For today—-it a Heaven Hill 7 yr bourbon. Nothing too impressive, but nothing to dismiss as well. Just a good well rounded bourbon with the basics intact— nice ABV, upfront caramel and vanilla, finishes with a dose of oak. Probably goes well in a variety of cocktails as well as having it neat or over ice. Sometimes uncomplicated is good, and that is exactly what this is.

@Spirited_Away totally agree…I always find that, unless I’m going to a place known for good distilleries, I can always do better by simply bringing a few samples with me. It’s cheaper, and with the added benefit that it saves the hassle of negotiating with family while I do a tasting.

A great way to travel especially if you know your destination will lack the spirits you love. When I visit Myrtle Beach I bring my own craft beer with me. That aside, I agree with your comment. Sometimes you just want something simple and straight forward you can enjoy without the added effort of teasing out the complexities of the higher end offerings.
