Four Roses Private Selection Single Barrel Barrel Strength Bourbon (OESO)

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Reviewed October 21, 2024 (edited February 15, 2026)
4.0
4.0 out of 5 stars
Rating: 4.12/5 The bottle I'm reviewing is a barrel pick from Mammoth Liquors in KY. Tier 1. 10yr, 2mo. 107.4 proof. Bottled May of 2023. Nose: Red berry compote, blue berry, cedar, slight pine/evergreen, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar. Palate: Warm strawberry, cherry, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla. A lot of notes from the nose carry through to the palate. There is a light amount of rye spice as well. Finish: Red fruit, light oak, cinnamon, rye spice. Medium finish with a solid mouthfeel. Overall: Very fruit forward from the nose to the finish, with a subtle amount of oak and spice to make it a very well balanced drinking experience. There's not a whole lot about this bottle that I can fault, except that the mouthfeel/viscosity is just okay. I really enjoy this specific barrel pick and always have my eye out for OESO picks.
