Nose: raisins, currants, figs, dark toffee and a slight hint of iodine.
Palate: caramel, more raisins and a touch of brine. Molasses and dark stone fruit. finish is long and very sherry.
Mouth feel: chewy, a touch astringent. It works though, because it cuts the sweetness which could be cloying otherwise.
Overall: for an allay, there's almost no smoke or peat. But it's a very nice dram with enough complexity to remain interesting throughout. One I would enjoy having in my cupboard.
