Aberlour 18 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

This an great whiskey and exceptional value. For comparison, I performed a side by side tasting with The Belvenie Portwood 21 year. Both have strong fruity undertones due to the influence of extended aging in Port casks/pipes. Despite costing considerably less, i think the Aberlour more than held its own. This expression had a darker, thicker, and very smooth profile. The palate was filled with chocolate, dried fruits, oak, and caramel. As a bonus, this whiskey pairs exceptionally well with my go to cigar (Montecristo 1935 anniversary Nicaragua Series)
