Nose - Baked apples, orange jam, pears, caramel, burnt toffee
Taste - Apple fritters, light bitter apple seeds/stems, honey, salt, cinnamon
Finish - Apples, light bitter crushed seeds/stems, honey
Score - 82/100
Final Thoughts - So this being a blend of the Kanosuke single malt and their malted + unmalted barley Hioki pot still; this does encapsulate characteristics from both. Sadly, this seems to have inherited the worst characteristics of both. The nose felt a bit muted and although there was a nice apple note throughout, it felt a bit dominated by a crushed apple seed/stem bitterness that was a bit distracting as there wasn't anything else there to help use that bitterness. The mouthfeel felt pretty lackluster and although it wasn't bad in anyway, it just felt like the characteristics that made each individual component unique got lost in this blend.
