N: Strawberry jam on the nose. Very inviting. I'm not picking up any Ethanol. P: Strawberry jam appears on the front palete and then transitions into a note traditional malt. Slight amount of heat, but drinks at or below proof. F: Lingering, medium finish. Just a really pleasant dram. Summary: This is exactly what I'd hoped for out of this whiskey. I've been a fan of Starward for years and also usually like red wine finished whiskey. When I saw this collaboration with Pinhook at cask strength, I had to pick up a bottle. If you like red wine finished Cask strength whiskey or dtams on the fruitier side, you'll probably enjoy this one.
