I've been drinking Lot 40 for years as it's my go to whisky whenever I'm out and I see the bar has it in stock. Oddly enough, this is the first bottle I've actually bought and figure it's time for a proper review. Sweet almonds/cherry, maple and the signature rye spiciness on the nose. Peppery on the palate, with a bit of heat and plenty of oak. The finish is dry and tannic with a bit of leather and dried apple. All in all its decent neat, but it's really more of a top notch mixer.
