Age - 9 years, 5 months, 18 days

Nose - Heavy baking spices, star anise, cardamon, black pepper, fresh bread, sharp caramel, citrus rind, strong oak, and strong ethanol.
Palate - Oily and viscous, Red Hots, pine needle, lemon oil, vanilla extract, new leather, and rye bread. Finish is long and oily with strong oak, caramel, white pepper, lemon, cinnamon, and medium ethanol.
Even an average Knob Creek Rye SiB pick is still a pretty good value. This was easily the oldest pick I've tried. It's nice that they're putting out much older picks than what we've seen for the last few years. I don't think this is any better than the 5Y picks I've had from my previous bourbon club, but that doesn't mean there aren't some sleepers out there.
