Parker's Heritage 10 Year Cask Strength Rye Whiskey
Rye — Kentucky, USA

Last drops of a bottle purchased for a small group of guys - poured from an Aged & Ore bottle...and admittedly before I start to put together this rating, I know I love this whiskey, and I'm sad to see it go...
The look is very standard - medium amber...modest legs if I give it a healthy swirl, but nothing to write home about. Nose is sweet and inviting - mild rye spices, plenty of vanilla, and surprisingly full of dark fruits - honestly gets better as it sits in the glass...its full and suggests a higher proof, but is never heavy or overpowering.
The sip is enjoyable and oak forward...more wood than spice...and if I were to nip this blindly, I would think this was notably older than 10 yo. I'm catching oak, cherry, nutmeg, other baking spices, but again, this isn't a rye-forward rye. Its very easy drinking, but admittedly far from the most complex pour I've had.
Moderate viscosity on the sip...and the finish is quite strong...maybe a bit more spicy on the finish than at any other point.
This is a very, very good pour...and I'm sad to see it go, but my memories are maybe a bit loftier than my sip this evening would suggest. That shouldn't be taken as a slight, but I was seriously looking at some secondary prices before I nipped this tonight, and after enjoying my last dram, I'll simply accept that this was indeed my last dram of this whiskey...
