This is a very special 18 year whiskey barreled at 118 proof. This expression was awarded best in show at the 2025 WSWA competition and was named by Forbe’s as the world’s best whiskey. The nose was amazing! I detect hints of dark chocolate, cherry, butterscotch, tobacco, and leather. The palate complements the nose with flavors of vanilla, caramel, and baking spices. The finish is long with maple and medicinal cherry overtones. The packaging is a gorgeous distinctive trophy decanter intended to celebrate the centennial of Calumet Farms. The overall presentation and bourbon is a one-of-kind experience. However, I would rate it at around 4.4 but the app rounded it up.

i was hyped to order some calumet 18 (or possibly 16yr) at a bar–lol but anytime someone says “medicinal cherry” in a review / as a tasting note, i get thrown so much. i prob won’t be pulling the trigger at a bar for a pour of this now to see if i like it enough to buy it. if i want robitussin, i’ll drink southern comfort. hah🤮! the other two notes i take issue w/, are salty (brininess) bc i don’t do dry peat, & dill. medicinal cherry, peatiness, dill. . .that’s like, welcome to my nightmare–if i were to spend good money on a bottle & find any of that. no thank you, sir. i’m sure this is a great bottle, tho.
