First whiff of the bottle is sweet scotch, second whiff is what I was expecting of this peated whisky. It's a soft nose packed with strong scents. It brings orange pith, new gym shorts slightly used, gym floor, flower garden, fresh soil. I don't like the smell of smoked canned oysters, which this smells like, but I like it here.
The palate is... wow; soft beginning, mouthfeel, finish. So smooth.
This tastes like sitting poolside on the Fourth of July with the smell of fireworks and pool water passing by. Tastes like old old books and heavy English pipe tobacco. It's all surrounded by a soft sweetness to round it out.
If you want a scotch to sip for awhile, choose this one.
