In short: Disappointed. Take the money, get the Dalwhinnie 15 year, and use the leftover funds for a good cigar. Honey, floral, and slight vanilla aroma. You know: Dalwhinnie. While it's not a high-proof scotch it has a bit of that alcohol burn typical of higher proofs. Meh. Added a couple water drops and that helped mellow it out. Brought out the taste of apple and a little sweetness. Rating based on neat sipping.
