⚠️ [NOTE 2: Tasting notes below reflect approximately 2.0 oz consumed neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass from a newly purchased bottle, over the course of approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. Two drops of bottled water were added roughly halfway through.]
👁 OPTICS | Copper-tinged goldenrod in color. Very clear. Relatively light/thin and watery.
👃 OLFACTION | Dominated by instant scents of Oloroso sherry and red wine, with a general dessert-like sweetness. Moderate ethanol fumes/burn upon deep inhalation and closer inspection. Freshly-cut green apple and pear notes layered beneath. Occasional pleasant hints of honey and toffee. No percepible change post-water droplets.
👅 PALATE | Refreshing and reinvigorating burst of a bouquet of springtime/meadow flowers, in harmony with various green orchard fruits. Heavy salt and generic baking spices, with mild black pepper notes. Oloroso sherry and vinous flavors only reappeared (from their olfactory debut) after adding water drops, becoming increasingly noticeable towards the end.
👄 MOUTHFEEL | Exceptionally light, thin (almost airy), watery, and smooth. Considerable—almost uncomfortable—saltiness, dryness, and spiced warmth, which became notably less intense after introduction of water droplets.
🏁 FINISH | Blatant dryness, saltiness, and overall "spicy warmth" (in a baking spice and ethanol sense), lingering strongly for 10+ minutes and unfortunately masking subtle remnants of fruits and flowers.
