Nose- Oak, vanilla and baking spice. Bown sugar and honey notes as well.
Palate- dry mouthfeel, sweet caramel and brown sugar with a note of rye spice to start. Slight herbal and floral notes. Herbal and gloral notes make an appearance at this point.
Finish- vanilla and oak dominate. The rye spiciness is muted by notes of brown sugar and baking spices. Many layers to this that keep unfolding as the finish lingers.
Overall- A lovely and complex bottle. A sugary sweetness balances the rye spice. You get a lot of everything with this bottle- plenty of oak and vanilla from the barrel, caramel and sugary sweetness, rye spice and dryness. A great bottle for any collection and where the peerless distillery really shines.
