N: Sherry dominates the nose which I didn't anticipate! I know it's finished in Sherry, but I thought the peat would dominate. Lingering awhile and the peat reveals itself subtlety on the back end. We'll done!
P: Very heavy Sherry influence on the palette. Granted, this has been open for 9 years so it may have lost some of the smoke from the initial opening (and I just drank Ardbeg Scortch beforehand...). If you sit with this a bit it is a huge Sherry bomb that then turns into the Peaty smoke you're expecting. We're hitting some vanilla and maybe a touch of Heather and honey along the way as well. If you're a fan of Lagavulin 16 and Sherry, pick one of these up. This is really well done!
F: The Sherry gives way to Peaty at the end. I'll say this is a medium finish. I still need to experience one of these at cask strength to see what that's like!
