N: Sweeter than a typical Scotch on the nose, the red wine finish doesn't hit me nearly as hard as most Sherry finishes do. It is a pleasant nose, but nothing is jumping out to me. Often times I get "jammy" on the nose of whiskeys finished in red wine, but this one doesn't quite go that far. Not a knock, just an observation!
P: Wow! Creamy, smooth, fruity. All of those flavors and sensations abound before the tradional Glenmorangie notes peak out at the end. I don't often use the term "crushable" with single malts, but that is where we are with this one. This is the whiskey you use for the friend who says they don't like whiskey. If they don't like this one, then they indeed don't like whiskey. This is very light on the palate, but still somehow rich at the same time. There is absolutely no burn here at all.
F: I'm not getting a ton of the red wine finish like I do in some other whiskeys, but this just works. Seems perfectly dialed in with the finish remove any semblance of an edge. I'm getting something on the palate into the finish transition that I can't quite pick out. It might be Smarty or some other hard candy adjacent. Take your time with this one. I wish this wasn't an LE!
