Whiskey Tour of the World 2025 #18
Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes.
Color: Very pale amber.
Nose: Smoke and brine.
Palate: More smoke and brine, with some peppery spice.
Finish: Long length with medium heat, mostly the briny and black peppery notes.
Splash: No new flavors are revealed.
Overall: 6/10 - It’s difficult to vompare this to anything other than an Islay, since that’s obviously what they’re going for here. In that regard, this misses the subtle fruit notes and is just smoke and brine with some black pepper.
I’m not sure what a bottle goes for as I got this as part of Costco’s Whiskeys of the World 2025 edition, but it would be interesting to put in a blind with some other “smoky” whiskys.
