Glencairn, neat, rested 15 min
Nose: burnt sugar/caramel, candied apples, more ethanol than expected
Palate: baking spice, red hot candy, sweet/syrup
Finish: mild vanilla, oak, not a ton going on here for me.
Overall: Fairly underwhelming given the hype around this bottle. Tastes perfectly fine but nothing overly special. Happy to buy a bottle at MSRP if I see it.
Affordability Rating: 2 out of 5. Worth picking up to try once. I’ve seen bottles at $90 or $100 which is ok if you’ve never had it before. Otherwise I would pass on this if above $55
