This was a store pick from Macs in ATL. Love 4R. One of my favorite distilleries. Always brag that ive never had a bad bottle of 4R. The stresk may be over. This bottle was very thin and honestly had very little taste. What’s more disappointing Is the fact that a store picked this bottle. And this wasn’t like Total Wine or a grocery store where they get the leftovers this liquor store actually picked this barrel. I really don’t understand. And what’s worse is I bought two bottles and now I’m stuck with two bottles that are not very good.. The only upside of this bottle is even 114 proof it had no proof on it. Normally, that’s a great thing at a higher proof, but it had no taste and was thin. It just wasn’t good. I really hope it opens up and giving it three stars is only because of the fact that I hope it opens up. So just as a test, I open up the same recipe only a non-store pic and tried it. It tasted like classic four roses. Wasn’t my favorite bottle of four roses I’ve ever had, but it tasted like four roses. So my pallet was in check it’s just not a good bottle. As I said, I hope it improves, but I’m not holding my breath.
