Actually pretty good sherry finished bourbon. Very enjoyable for a dessert pour, end of the night cap 🥃
Sherry sweet but still get some oak notes well balanced

i liked my dareinger, mood pour or not (i don’t view these as dessert pours) till i bought & tried the thomas s. moore sherry finish. that singular bottle ruined sherry finished bourbons for me so to speak. i’m super weary about buying them & don’t have the taste for ‘em i once had. the problem w/ the t.s. moore (it’s barton distillate from 1792 btw) is, they left it in the secondary cask for some crazy crazy amount of time, in trying to make a “premium” product. way overdone. but luckily i’d found it at john Os marked down & didn’t have to shell out the full 79.99 it typically goes for. the t.s. moore is great for cocktails or old fashioneds however. i do love oloroso & orange/amontillado sherry finishes (see cedar ridge). but as far as sipping a sherry finished bourbon neat, from here out the only one i’ll buy (outside of cedar ridge lol) is cinder & smoke oloroso. it’s balanced so well… def not overbearing in the finish. it’s a bourbon that drinks solid, not super special initially, & somewhat straight-forward (not in a bad way) when you try it… so it doesn’t hit like a finished product. . . but after i left the bar i tried it at, i found myself craving that whiskey. they def got it right. too bad the bottle is usually sitting at 100 bucks even. i’m not so sure that’s the value i would assign to it–maybe $60-70. but, anyway. that’s just my 2 cents. cheers
