Nose: very strong Sherry cask influence with forward grape/wine aroma. Sweet and fruity with hints of apricot lingering. Mild oak aromas on a deeper sniff.
Palate: Strong initial spice and alcohol taste. Sweetness opens up after with dark chocolate notes and sugary oak. The taste finishes with some tobacco and a dark grape note
Finish: Thick finish with licorice lingering flavor. Tannins dominate the finish with a bitter/thick/furry feel.
Overall the nose is excellent with the taste less forward sweet than the nose might suggest. The extreme tannin finish is a major downside to this in my opinion
