A very average bourbon for my palate. Sweet, soft, but lacking depth to keep me wanting more. The front of the palate is light, summer fruits, red berries, unsweetened whipped cream. Mid palate and finish are really where the whiskey falls flat in my opinion. Slight caramel, and a lot of oak but weirdly lacking the sweet oak I usually find in buffalo trace products. Finish was tannin dominant and short, with a small hint of berries and wheat.
Overall, I can think of many other bourbons I’d rather reach for. Not bad, just not exciting enough to incite a return to grabbing the bottle for more.
