Nose: light brown sugar, salted caramel, apple, hint of orange zest, cinnamon, faint candy-like bubble gum, and soft leathery notes. Palate: caramel, cinnamon, clove, hint of a nutty toasted walnut note, light earthy quality, tobacco, hint of salty sea air, and a dry, spicy almost rye touch on the finish. Slight oiliness that coats nicely and delivers a balanced profile. I am not a bourbon guy, so this is a rare review by me. But this is one of the few I’ve come across that I find really good. Yes, it is expensive and others will argue it’s overpriced. But it really is a quality offering.
