Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B524
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Color: Medium Copper-Amber.
Nose: Sweet nose of molasses and burnt sugar.
Palate: (Drank with an ice cube) Syrupy sweetness on the lips followed by a big ol' Kentucky Hug! Spicy-hot oak assaults the tongue with further sips. Chest hug persists. This definitely drinks its proof. A charcoal-like smokiness — which I welcome wholeheartedly— and a nice licorice note comes to the fore as the juice begins to coat the tongue. The hug finally subsides several sips in.
Finish: Long with lots of spicy oak and the smoky licorice lingering from the palate.
Final Thoughts: My grocery store is slashing prices on many bottles in order to make room for new arrivals that they are trying to get in. At the price I paid, this was a no-brainer. I haven't had a new Larceny batch at all this year. I've sort of abandoned the rat race of trying to track down batches — whether it be Larceny, or Booker's, or Elijah Craig, etc., etc. But this opportunity was too good to pass up, and I'm glad I grabbed this bottle from 2 years ago. 4.0 stars.
